Tremblay and Coulombe

Michael

Bonjour - Sorry the only French I'm sure of... my parents were both speaking english in our house by the time I came along.  I am new to this site and have added my connection to Louis Coulombe on my father's side.  My mother was a Tremblay and from my grandfather, Damase have connected up to Pierre and Achon in 1857.  I've been lucky in these areas and if anyone needs Coulombe information, I have a genealogy book done by Paul Coulombe that has 650+ pages.

My next search is on my maternal grandmother's side who is also a Tremblay! LOL

She was born in 1888 and came to the states between 1916 and 1921 and she is in this website now.  I know she had at least 3 brothers, 2 came to the states in 1920, Leonidas and Jules.  There was a brother that stayed in Canada.  This is what I know right now.  His name was Joseph and was married to Yvette.  She may have been his second wife.  He had about 16 children with his first wife and 2 more with Yvette, she was the maid when his first wife died.  He was well to do in Quebec City and owned a contruction company/brick factory.  One daughter was named Margot and she could be married now.  Another daughter was named Germaine (sp?) and she was married to a man with the last name Giroux or Geroux.  They had at least 2 boys, Pierre and Marc.  Marc would have been born in the 40's, Pierre was younger.

Thanks in advance!

Wow!!!!!

Yes, I believe that is my grandfather.  And that one link allowed me to find not only my grandmother, but her family, mother, father and siblings.  The details between the 1901 and 1911 census are a bit difference, but I had a great uncle, Leonidas and he's in both with around the right age!

Merci, Merci, Merci!

Bonjour Denise,

Thanks for the offer of help, but I've pretty much got everything now regarding my maternal grandparents.  They were Damase Tremblay and Julia Tremblay. (I've got them in here with the links back)  She was his first cousin's (Anna) daughter! Guess that happened often back then.

The only thing I can't figure out it is which one of their brothers named Joseph had between 16-20 children (depends on which cousin you talk to) and owned either a contruction company or brick factory...  They only remember that he had most of his children with his first wife and then when she died, he married the maid and had 2 more children.

My older sister remembers visiting one of his daughter's and her family in the late 1950's.  She was 'Germaine'(sp) and she had at least 2 boys my sister's age (around 12-13) one named Marc and she thinks the other was Pierre.

I don't expect you'd be able to help much with this part. But thanks for responding!

Regards,

Michael
