Amable Lord
He was first documented in the 1871 Canadian Census at the age of 4, along with father Louis Lord (age 32) and mother Adele (33), along with siblings Louis (9), Joseph (7), Elie (6), and Ludger Lord (2).
The Ste-Louis-du-Ha!-Ha!, Temiscouata, Quebec 1881 census recorded Louis Lord (38 yrs old, Catholique & “Cult.”); wife, Cedelice (32 yrs old & Catholique); daughter, Adele (8 yrs old); and 5 sons, Joseph (17 yrs old & “Cult.’s son”), Elie (16 yrs old & “Cult.’s son”), Amable (14 yrs old & “Cult.’s son”).
Amable married Arthémise Côté, daughter of Cyrille & Georgianna Côté, at St-Jean-Baptiste de Lowell, MA on August 19, 1889. Amable and Arthemise had at least four children, but only one of them survived past one year of age. Daughter Marie Rose (1890 in Nashua, NH) and son Lawn (1893, Lowell, MA) were both stillborns. Son Wilfred Lord was prematurely born (1895, Worchester, MA). However, son Joseph Ernest Narcisse Lord was born in 1891 in Nashua, NH, and lived to be 74. He is also buried with his wife Alice (Griffin) Lord in St. Joseph Cemetery.
