Hello - I am a new member & am researching numerous Canadian surnames. The main ones I am working on now are Pensonneau & Michaud. I have my Pensonneau line back to Francois Pensonneau b: 1646 in France. Came to Quebec as a soldier to fight Indians. He married Anne Lebere. Francois died 1731 in Quebec.
I am also researching the Michaud surname. This is really a tough one. The information I already have is: Joseph Michaud, born 1810 - 1814 in South Canada. He married Francoise Pensonneau in 1841 in Cahokia, St. Clair County, Illinois, USA. They had 8 children, one of whom died in infancy: F.A., Mary E., Ed S., *Orelia 1857-1917, Francoise Esther, Alexander, Julie, Joseph. Joseph Sr. died between 1871 & 1874 in East St. Louis, Illinois. I would really like to find his parents, gr. parents, etc. Any help would be appreciated. :-)
