The above-mentioned are my maternal great-grandparents and also my great aunt and uncle. I am trying to trace both individuals, but especially Joseph. I understand that he was born in Quebec in 1838 and married in 1867, but am unable to trace his parentage. I believe Clara can be traced to New Jersey. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Based on the infos from Rodney in the 2012 post, we can see on  THE 1901 CENSUS  that Joseph was born may 31st 1840.  So, in the same post, Michel was right : Joseph was the son of Jean-Baptiste and Desanges Champoux.  Here's a link to their file ( and their ancestors ) on this site : http://www.nosorigines.qc.ca/GenealogieQuebec.aspx?pid=839057.

Yes, thank you, Renee, I have all the information I need concerning descendants. It was just trying to track down this Joseph. Both Joseph and Charles are very common. In as big a family as this one, you can appreciate how complicated things can get. Again, thanks for your help.
