I've been researching generationally, using nosorigines as a guide, and I am presently trying looking for a reason why the generation I'm investigating has Thérèse Côté marrying Gabriel Rouleau and François Meunier. The two possibilities are that Ancestry automatically linked the name somehow and just defaulted to populating data to the wrong person, or that there was a birth, death or marriage listing among any of Catherine Meunier, Josephte Meunier or Marguerite Rouleau on this site that suggested that their mothers are the same Thérèse Côté (Meuniers are definitely sisters, but it doesn't seem like Marguerite is a half-sister). There are two different entries for the Thérèse that married Rouleau and the Thérèse that married Meunier such that they are definitely not the same person.

They are two different persons.  Thérèse, who married François Meunier, was the daughter of François Côté and Marguerite Trudel and was born in 1747.  After the death of François in 1787, she then married Jean-Baptiste Beaudry in 1793.

Marie-Thérèse, who married Gabriel Rouleau, was the daughter of Joseph Côté and Marie Paradis and was born in 1766.  Gabriel was Marie-Thérèse' second husband.

I am trying to look at the two Meunier girls and the Rouleau girl to determine whether my error was due to following references on nosorigines, whether it just might be behavior by Ancestry.com's interface for people having the same name, or whether somehow I did something stupid with name matching.

Well, definitely different people with the same name, and nothing to indicate they're the same of the three respective children I have documented in my tree. So this is all set.
