Here is what I have looking to fill in the holes - Joseph LaFountian
Birth: could be 1806 per US census
1808, Canada East Chambly (also have records showing 1805 and 1811)
Death: 1909???

1825 Joseph Lafontaine crewed on the vessel Chambly from Montreal to Ottawa with the St. Lawrence Steamboat Company
sidebar: 1827 the Rideau Canal was being built and a number of irish imigrants came to the area for work.
1830 (There are no assessment tolls for 1832, 1833, 1834) A large group of people that came into Osgoode Township on the 4th and 5th concession. Daniel O’Connor and Joseph Lafontaine each cleared 3 acres of land – Joseph may have been living in Glouscester previous (1981 Osgoode township historical Society and Museum (http://www.osgoodemuseum.ca/download.php?id=164)
Early Pioneers traveling to Osgoode would come up the St. Lawrence to near Prescott and then take the high ground to Gloucester.

1842 – Joseph lafountain living in Osgoode Township he paid taxes on lot 9 conc 4. I also found a Hugh Mccormick married to a Marget Busby lot 12 conc 8 (these could be Jane’s parents) There was also a Patrick H. Mark Mccormick , a Andrew McCormick and a John McCormick living in Osgoode at that time.
