Steve

Hello, I am trying my hardest to find the parents of Jean Couture who married married Marie Lelerc:

http://www.nosorigines.qc.ca/GenealogieQuebec.aspx?genealogie=Thomas_Couture&pid=1516563&lng=fr

My goal is to trace my Couture lineage as far as possible but am stuck at this lead...

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

but do resolve questions  and  I hope Paul Bujold has the solution

here I find a Jean Bapstiste  Couture m to a M.Anne Leclerc

that could be your couple?? m in1825 St Charles Bellecahsse

he had a couple sons m in 1861 in Cap St Ignace  by the way

and he is the son of  Jean Couture and Josephte Royer

I am trying to make sense of it all and connect some dots. I will return when I have done more research and have more concrete information. I also found what you mention but no matter which way I look when I think I get a match the sons names don't match up. This could be bad record keeping. Thanks again and I will make sure return shortly.

I am using another site which I had to pay for and I worked my way back and hit the dead end at Jean Couture and Marie Levesque, but it sayd Marie Lecerc when I work my way the opposite way, and the sons names are different. I am looking for Jean Couture that had a son names Thomas. I would like to know Jean Couture's parents and it might be the ones you mentioned.

The site I am using is http://www.mesaieux.com/

For free you can work your way back starting with my Grandfather Alphee Couture and Grandmother Angelique Cotton. You will see the dead end at Jean Couture and Marie Levesque. Everywhere else I search the other way it is Marie Leclerc but different son.

Sorry for the spam and repetetive text, I am multi tasking at work...

I really like this site, you seem very helpful.

Merci Claude,

It appears that you may be right. I am trying to find the factual link that Thomas was Jean Baptiste Couture & Josepthe Roye grandson to make sure it is the correct Jean Couture. It appears to be correct but I cannot find anything concrete to the best of my knowledge.

Thanks again for helping out.

When I go to: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=paulbujold&id=I5669

It has nothing to do with any Coutures or Leclers, I see:

"

ID: I5669
Name: Élie Pîlon
Sex: M

Father: Alexis Pilon b: 1862
Mother: Thaïs Bergevin b: 1863 in St-Isidore (Roussillon) Québec

Marriage 1 Lauria Prévost

Married: 16 FEB 1909 in St-Timothée (Beauharnois-Salaberry) Québec"

Not sure what is causing that... you can email me at steve_couture@yahoo.ca

I think I found the link I need to prove Jean Baptiste is Father of Thomas and leads further down the line...

Please disregard my previous post about your second link not working, that time it was my fault. I copy and pasted incorrectly and forgot the number 3 at th end. I now see what you meant. Thank you so very much. Does this site have a donation page?
