This a tricky situation but I cannot find any additional information on Marguerite Valiquet. From a notation in a family book I have discovered that her marriage to Eustache Antoine Lefebvre de Bellefeuille was annulled (apparently she was a minor), obviously not before she became pregnant. Her daughter is the grandmother of my ancestress Marie Elizabeth Longpre (Delongpre-/-Lumphrey). Marguerite died in 1870, her daughter died in 1880 and it is suspected that she was born around 1818, since she was apparently 62 when she died. The annulled husband remarried and had 5 children with his other wife. The closest I have come to finding her is a possible cousin with the same name and a birthdate close to what hers might have been. Anybody know what happened to Marguerite Valiquet? Supposed daughter of Jean Louis Valiquet and Marguerite Lagault dit Deslauriers.

Marie Elisabeth Longpre is married to Dr. Joseph Octave L'Allier, my great-great-grandfather, it was their daughter (a nun) that told her niece about the annulment. I just checke family search.org and there are only three that might be possibilities but they were from census from when she would have been 50 or 60 years old, can't be sure if it was really her.

After my previous message to you I went back into family search, and went a little deeper, and I found some possible dates.

It suggested that Marguerite was born 1798, then it mentioned the date 1822 I thought at first might be a death date then I realized that I had the date of 1870 for her death. So, I thought perhaps it was date of marriage or perhaps a name change? This area also mentioned that Angelique was born in 1807, this seems too early to me because that would have made Marguerite only 9 years old at the time she gave birth.

When I checked the Submission ID MM72-W6V it mentioned that Marguerite(SY5W-C6P) had relations outside of marriage which would lead me to believe that she was not married at all, and that perhaps she was raped? Could she have possibly gone into seclusion possibly in a convent? Are there such records to find out this? There were no mention of her parents at all.

Thanks, but I have all of this. The only thing in question is Marguerite Valiquet, I now think she was born in 1801 or 1798 and died 1870, she then had a daughter after her marriage to Eustache Antoine Lefebvre was annulled. I am trying to figure out whether or not she remarried and had other children. I have no marriage date or actual date of her daughters birth, I have found 1807, which would be too soon, but I believe it might be 1818, since she died in 1880, and my records indicate she was 62 at death.

It seems like every time I find information about Marguerite I am finding different information. The official info I have comes from my great-great-grandparent's (Joseph Octave & Elizabeth Marie) daughter Sister Marcelline as told to her niece.

So, the question is what became of Marguerite?

Marguerite never married, the birth of their daughter Marguerite Angelique, this birth is illegitimate. bapt. 9 April 1821 , Ste-Anne-des-Plaines, Deux Montagnes.

This is the explanation of Marguerite Valiquette was living common-law with Antoine Debellefeuille doctor was therefore a very influential man I guess.
