My mother is Catherine Heroux, their daughter. I and trying to add valid Info. for:  birth, death, marriage, etc....

but the page is locked and it says - Owner: 914

I would like to be contacted by this person so I can add myself, my siblings, grandchildren, etc.....

Hi,

I read that in the instructions, and it said - click "MODIFY" then click ENV. icon.

Where is the MODIFY button?? Can't find it.

The ENV. icon had only 2 choices. 

- See SENT emails

- See RECEIVED emails

Neither one was what I needed. 

Can you help?

If you click on the envelopp, you will be able to send your informations to the owner of the record.

You can't modify the record of an other owner.

Well that doesn't work for me so I'm going to find another family tree. 

I don't think a family tree should be built by one person. What happens in the future when that person dies?

As I told you, go to the page of Amedee and Ludivine, click the envelope to write the owner # 914. The address of the page Amedee and Ludivine is: http://nosorigines.qc.ca/GenealogieQuebec.aspx?pid=75357. Remember to write to him must necessarily be connected to the site with your username and password.


If it does not respond when you contact the owner of the site as I mentioned to you.

  If the owner #914 dies while you write the site owner nosorigines.qc.ca
and ask them to transfer you the profile in question as well as children of the same couple.

Hi Caroline,

I also started my family tree with this website, it is very useful because links are already created between the persons as you go through your ancestors. I occasionnaly found people that were not linked to their parents and wrote to the owner of the file, who added the link. This website makes it a lot easier to find your ancestors than many of the other websites I visited, because you can have good use of the hard work of other people  ;)

What I did was to create my own files for me, my parents, siblings, aunts and uncles. They were not created yet. And I could then link then to my grand parents, that were created, without having to ask to the owner of this file because it's recent enough. If I could not have linked my files to my grands parents, i would just have asked the owner of the file to do so. As for my maternal grand father, I just had to create files for 2 generations and all the rest had been done by other people, so I arrived directly to the first people who arrived to Nouvelle-France in mid-1600's.

You could at least answer when I wrote to you by e-mail at least we would know what to expect if it continues or not in this research.
