My paternal Gr.Great Grandfather was Jean Vincent Dione. He was born (early 1800's) St. Louis, Komanster, Quebec. He married Henriette Tessier in 1836 and they had 3 children; Marie Elise born 1837, Joseph Edward 1839 (my Great Grandfather) and Leon born 1844. Henriette died 29 Oct 1847 after which Jean Vincent married Josette Landry in 1849 and they had at least one child, Cleophare born 1850. This family seems to have always lived in Ste Anne de La Pérade, Quebec.
Prior to my Great Grandfather marrying it appears he changed his surname from Dione to Young. As well, it was noted on his Marriage registration that his father's name was Benjamin Young and not Jean Vincent Dione as I later found out. This "change in name" caused me years of researching the wrong name. Fortunately for me a kind gentleman who worked in the Archives in Ottawa was able to do some research and make the connection for me.
