Hi Bernice,

I have not found a Hopital Sainte-Therese in Montreal on Google.

But there is a Residence Sainte-Therese, founded in 1896, in relation with a psychiatric hospital, that is Hopital Saint-Jean-de-Dieu, later renamed Hopital Louis-H. Lafontaine.

The following link is an historical text in french.

I wish that will be for you a good step in your search.

Jacques:
Thank you for your interest and reply.  Back in 1937 this was a private birthing hospital located on rue St. Denis; in the 40s it moved to Lachine or Verdun, I believe. I'm not sure that it exists now;at some time it was managed by a Father Boyle and nuns. I was born there and adopted 5 days later. On baptismal records there is also the name L'Aide de la femme which I assume was an agency for women in trouble. I've tried to search for that place but with no luck. Both places are listed in Lovell's Directory of the time. I am hoping I can find others who may have had some personal connection to either place. Again, thank you

Regards
Lois
