I am working on my family tree and seem to be stuck and not sure what to do next. I am Hector Lavigne Jr., My father was born in 1908 and baptised in Wylie Ontario, His siblings, Godfrey (born 1896), Vena, Leo, Thomas , David  and Alma . Father David Lavigne and mother Victoria Pichette. My grandfather's father was Jesse Lavigne and mother Octavia had 2 sons, David and Jean B. who I believe settled in Hawkesbury and I believe both grandparents and great grand parents had roots or came by  way of Aylmer Quebec or the greater area of Wright Quebec. Not sure of anything beyond that

I can't find a thing on Victoria Pichette and am very much lost after that.

My question is there anyone I can engage, hire to deliver a family tree that makes sense. Pictures of grandmother suggest Native heritage and when I found out that she could be from Wright, I immediately thought of reserves near Manawaki Quebec.

Are you a researcher and if so can I hire you to assist us with our research. I never thought of the Tessier  angle although I remember my father saying something about that.One of our goals is to determine whether there is native lineage and from the pictures of my grandmother she could very well be that. The little research that I was able to do suggests she may have come from Wright Quebec ( Aylmer and parts north) where there are native reserves ( Manawaki)

I also just learnt my great grandfather was Jesse Lavigne if I got that right, wife Octavia. They had 2 sons David and Jean B. which I assume is Jean Baptiste. It appears that Jean B. may have settled in the Hawkesbury area.

Jean Tessier an Cleophe Roy were married in 1852 Argenteuil  his parents were Pierre Tessier and Marie Reine Larocque(also Larocquebrune)  in my 30 years of assisting at the local society's library I have come across such names in" that area "  Larocque or Tessier are not  of native descent .Hope this helps.resolve  your question
