Does anyone have any information on Olive Ella Aubin, born about 1830. She was the second wife of Louis Mallet born 1805. I know they had 7 children, but I do not know her parents, siblings, or much of anything else about her family. Any information would help. And please, I cannot read french. Thank you, Thomas

Yves, any info on Olive Ella Aubin would be helpful. She was born about 1830. She married Louis Mallet about 1850. I don't know where they got married. She is Louis Mallet's second wife. Louis (b. 22 May 1805, d. 1905) married his first wife, Rose Servant on 22 November 1830 in Vaudreuil, St-Michel, Quebec. I don't know if that's where he married Olive. Olive died 28 March 1890. Louis lived to be 99. Louis & Olive had 7 children. Henriette, Francis, Philimin, Joseph, Louis (from which I am descended), Catherine, and Julian. The info I have on Julian is that he was captain of a private ship near Brockport, Ont. Any info on Olives parents, any documents on her or her children, any photos of any of these peoples would be greatly appreicated. Thank you, Thomas Mallette

Thomas,
The only thing I found until now is about Catherine. Louis Mallet and Rose Servant were living in Rigaud in the first years of their marriage and they had Catherine, baptized on March 29 1832 at Ste-Madeleine-de-Rigaud, Québec. It seems they moved after this birth.
Do you know burial place for Louis and/or Olive ? If you descend from Louis Jr, what was the name of her wife ? Are you living in Ontario ?
Sorry, I don't have any photos...
Yves Daoust.

Thomas,
I found them. On 1851 census, Louis Mallet and Rose Servant were living in Templeton, Québec. I found in Pointe-Gatineau, parish St-Francois-De-Sales-De-Templeton, the baptism of Isidore in 1848, the marriage of David with Julie Homier in 1855 and the marriage of Angélique with Félix Charette in 1860. Rose Servant was still alive at this last one. I think Catherine's husband was Basile Carufel.
Between 1860 and 1871, no more acts for this family in this parish.
So, as you can see, nothing until now about Olive Aubin. I'll check 1861 and 1871 census.
Click on the following link for a copy of 1851 census. Save it on your computer, it will not be available after 21 days.

I have heard that Louis might be buried in Kingston, I don't know about Olive. Louis' son Louis was married to Mary Agnes Charbonneau. They had 8 children and their last child, William Henry Mallette was my grandfather. William was born in Syracuse, N.Y. The rest were born in or around Brockville, Ontario. They came to the U.S. in 1901. I know about Louis & Rose Servant's 2 daughters. The Mallet name does not descend from them. I still do not know about Olive's parents. I would still like to learn more about Louis & Mary Agnes children as to where they lived in Brockville, what was their occupations, baptismal records, and other items of interest. Actual photo copies of any of these documents would be great. I knew, or had met, about half of them (my great aunts and uncles) before they passed. I have lived in Syracuse, N.Y. all my life and now am the oldest living Mallette from Louis & Mary Agnes. Sad to say there is no one to ask questions about them. My father, John, was the only child of William Henry. I should have started this quest before my father passed 15 years ago. It gets confusing because there are at least 5 different Louis in this family line alone. Like I said, any copies of documents would be great. Thank you for your information, Thomas

Thomas,
I'll search later, maybe tomorrow. I'll check Ontario's births and marriages. And maybe other members will be able to answer you.
Your last informations about your relatives will be very useful. We know where to search with these infos. I found the census copy on Ancestry.ca.
What are your sources ? Where do you go to do your searching ? Maybe we can suggest you some places to visit.
Yves Daoust
P.S. : Send me a Bonjour at this email : erased.com . When I received your answer, I'll erase it. I will be able to give you more infos this way.
