Vera A. Desruisseaux, 83, died October 4, 2007, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Goffstown NH, following a lengthy illness. She had resided at Hillsborough County Nursing Home for seven years. She was born in Suncook NH on March 17, 1924, the daughter of Samuel and Claudia (Cote) Huggins. She was a graduate of Pembroke Academy, class of 1943. Prior to her retirement she was a registered psychiatric nurse at the New Hampshire State Hospital in Concord and a registered nurse at Notre Dame Hospital, CMC Hospital, and Maple Leaf Healthcare Center. She was a member of the Registered Nurses Association, the Good Sam's Camping Association, and the Pioneer Traveling Club. She enjoyed learning about her Canadian and Scottish genealogy, reading, taking walks, crocheting, crewel embroidery, dancing, moped riding, and RV-ing.
She married Lionel J. Desruisseaux on April 24, 1948; he predeceased her on October 8, 2000.
Family members include her sons George Desruisseaux of Honolulu HI and David Desruisseaux of Concord NH; daughters Irene Graveline of Manchester, Elaine Pratt of Manchester, and Rose Aird of Raymond NH; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
