William Muir(b. 1800/1812) & Elizabeth Beard / Baird (b. 1812/1820) were born in Scotland, married there, and had four children there:

1. Elizabeth (b. 1834) 2. Isabella (b. 1836) 3. Robert (b. 1838) 4. William (b. 1840) In 1840 they went to Canada and had six more children:

5. Thomas (b. 22 Dec 1842, d. 7 Feb 1924) << married Eliza Couture

6. Mary (b. 1845) 7. James (b. 1847) 8. John (b. 1850) 9. Jane / Jeanette (b. 1849) 10. George (b. 1858)

Thomas Muir married Eliza Couture in Canada (both born in Canada) Married: 15 Oct 1870, Prescott and Russell, Ontario, Canada

Eliza was the daughter of Joseph Couture (b. France) (Note by FCR not born in France) & Louise Vezina / Viseneau (b. 1809, Canada) Joseph and Louise were married in Quebec in 1833.

The Coutures had six children:

1. Joseph (b. 1838) 2. George (b. 1841) 3. Mary (b. 1844) 4. Anna (b. 1849) 5. Eliza (b. 10 Jun 1851, d. 24 Mar 1936) << married Thomas Muir

6. Leonora (b. 1855)

Thomas & Eliza (Couture) Muir had eight children (all but the 1st born in Wisconsin) :

1. Mary Isabella (died in Canada) 2. Jesse Lena (b. May 1873) << d. Sep 1909, Elroy or Warrens, WI; m. Charles Pearson, 13 Nov 1897
