1797 - June 2nd Friday … near 6 pm Mr. Knight departed this life after a very long, severe, and painful illness, which he born with the greatest patience and resignation, in him the Service has lost a very good officer, a steady and upright man. I am sorry to add had Mr. Thomas the surgeon at Moose came to his assistance vide 1st March Mr. Knight always said his life might have been prolonged till such time as he could have reached England...

1797 – June 3rd Saturday …the people making a coffin, digging the grave, etc for the late Knight and at ½ past 7 pm intered his remains...
