Samual was taken prisoner with his mother Mary Tisdel & brought back to Quebec City. He "abjurcated" has Calvinist religion on May 21, 1752 in a Catholic church ceremony.
It is believed that the start of the Noel name began when supposedly Samual's first 3 children were baptised as Nuhalt's but the priest translated the name as Nouel and it later became Noel.
