Rosemary was the niece of Louis Orville Breithaup, mayor of Berlin, Ontario (renamed Kitchener in 1916), 1888-1889, Liberal MP for Waterloo North, 1940 to 1952 and 18th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, 1952 to 1957.
