Peacefully, in dignity passed away in Sudbury with her loving family by her side on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the age of 87 years. Daughter of the late Joseph and the late Orisina Landry (née Brunet). Wife of the late Edmé Paquette. Loving mother of Claudette Egan (Edgar) of Ottawa, Diane Bob (special friend Rick Kratky) of Naughton and Sylvio Paquette (Diane) of Chelmsford. Predeceased by her two sons Ronald (survived by Joyce Duquette) and Gerald. Dear sister of Marie Jeanne Rouleau (late Roméo) of Sudbury and Roger Landry (Reina) of Ottawa. Predeceased by her brothers Arthur (late Cécile), Denis (late Thérèse), Maurice (late Rolande), Adelard ( late Annette), Albert (Elise), Charles Edouard and by her sister Yvette. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 14 grandchildren and her 18 great-grandchildren. Also sadly missed by her special friend Joe Blais. Rita was a proud member of the ?Dame de la fédération des Femmes Canadiennes-françaises?. While at Pioneer Manor, she became very active as President of the residents committee for some time and enjoyed bowling, floor hockey, Bacci, singing and dancing. The family would like to thank the nursing and recreational staff of Pioneer Manor for the fun, love and affection, compassion they shed upon Rita?s life. As well the staff at Laurentian Hospital Palliative Care Unit where Rita spent the last week of her life deserve special mention for their tenderness and compassion during the last frail days. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4691 R.R. 15, Chelmsford Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. in Ste-Agnès Church, Azilda. Donations (by cheque only) to Maison Vale Inco Hospice would greatly be appreciated.
