Pietje was baptised in the Ned. Hervormde Church of Ferwert on the 22nd of November 1925. She was 5 years old and her father had been dead for almost 2 years.During WWII, she met her husband George Lalonde in the town of Sneek in Friesland in Northern Holland. He was stationed there with the Canadian Army, a member of the Perth Regiment.Pietje(Page) traveled from Holland to New York on the vessel m/s Gripsholm in 1947 when she moved to Stratford to be married.
