If the parish records are correct, Pierre MUST be a TWIN of Marie Labossiere who was buried on Oct. 2, 1800 aged 3 1/2 months, although there is no record of her baptism.

At Pierre's 2nd marriage, the marriage record of Pierre Labossiere to Zoe Fortin lists him as the widow of Louise Bousquet. There is no record of that marriage. There do not appear to be any other Pierre Labossiere’s alive at this time who could be the correct one, so this Pierre is taken to be the most likely. It is possible that the pronunciation of Gauthier could have been corrupted into Bousquet. Another possibility for the error is that Marie Louise Gauthier's mother's maiden name was Bousquet. There are no records of any marriages between any Labossieres and a Bousquet before 1853.
