He farmed in St. Norbert and represented St. Norbert South in the Manitoba Legislature from 1870 to 1874. After being defeated in 1874 he was re-elected in 1878 and was appointed Minister of Agriculture and President of the Council. He resigned in May 1879, when a difference of opinion arose between the French members of the government and John Norquay, the Premier. He resided thereafter at St. Adolphe. He was the first member to represent Provencher in the House of Commons, elected in March 1871 and served until 1874.

DELORME, PIERRE (he occasionally signed de L’Orme), Métis fur trader, farmer, businessman, and politician; b. on or about 1 Oct. 1832 in St Boniface (Man.), son of Joseph F. (Fafard) Delorme and Josephte Bellisle; m. there September 1854 Adélaïde Millet, dit Beauchemin, and they had five sons and two daughters; d. 10 Nov. 1912 in St Adolphe, Man., and was buried in the Roman Catholic cemetery there.
