Pierre was born at Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts, during the Acadian exile; reported as age 1 on the 20 Jul 1760 list of Acadians at Ipswich. [Ref. A Breau Genealogy, Second Edition (2004), Clarence T. Breaux and Robert Brault, p. 34, entry 14C& (14B7) Pierre Bro. The family left Ipswich shortly after 18 Aug 1766 and settled at St. Jacques de L'Achigan. His parents had their children who had been born in exile, Pierre and Elizabeth, baptised at L'Assomption (St. Pierre du Portage) on 9 Jun 1767.
