Mary Lachapelle, 62, was Southbridge Native
WOODSTOCK - Mary R. A. (Gauthier) Lachapelle, 62, of Lachapelle Road, a native of Southbridge, died yesterday at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT, after a lengthy illness.
She was the wife of Leo R. Lachapelle. Besides her husband she leaves three daughters, Elaine Lachapelle, Rita Lachapelle and Diane Ortyl, all of Woodstock; and a granddaughter, Michelle Ortyl.
She is the daughter of the late Wilfred and Josephine (Sansoucy) Gauthier and had lived in Woodstock since 1943. She was a communicant of St. Stephen's Church in Quinebaug. She was employed by the Belding Corticelli Company of Putnam, before retiring in 1970.
The funeral will be at 9am tomorrow from the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, with a mass at 10am in St. Stephen's Church, Route 197, Quinebaug. Burial will be in Barlow Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory be made to the tumor clinic of Day Kimball Hospital, Pomfret Street, Putnam, Ct 06260.
