1782 - Je pense que la date de naissance est incorrecte. Le record du 14 novembre 1785 est celui d'une Marguerite, fille de Charles Tanguay et Marguerite DUMAS. Je crois que la date exacte est le 25 avril 1782. Fille de Charles Tanguay et de Marie Bolduc.

This Marguerite Tanguay, has a sister "Marie-Reine", born in 1795, whose mother also had the surname "Dumas" at her baptism. However, her mother has the surname "Melanson" at the marriage of said sister Marie-Reine. This marriage of Marie-Reine Tanguay was celebrated on October 15, 1811 in St-Charles de Bellechasse. Therefore, Marguerite Melanson, wife of Charles Tanguay is the mother of 2 children, whose first names are Marguerite and Marie-Reine, and for the latter, at their baptisms, the mother is registered with the surname "Dumas". This is also confirmed by the PRDH, the most reliable website on French-Canadian genealogy in Quebec.

Je remarque aussi qu'il y avait une Marie-Marguerite Dumas, née environ 2 semaines avant Marguerite Melanson de Joseph Dumas et Geneviève Morin. C'était une famille assez étrange!
