Mrs. Chaine, the widow of Ernest J. Chaine, died Thursday, February 16, at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. She was born in Woonsockct, R.I., June 20, 1906, daughter of the late Adrien and Amandine (Blais) Ricard. She lived in Watertown for most of her life. She worked at Kaynor Regional Vocational Technical School in Waterbury until her retirement. She v/as a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, a member of its St. Jean the Baptiste Society Conseil Laval, and the Watertown Chapter 548 of the American Association of Retired Persons.

She leaves four sons, Dr. Jean Paul Chaine of Honolulu, Hawaii, Philip J. Chaine of Wolcott, Donald J. Chaine of North Havrel, N.H., and Marcel J. Chaine of Old Chatham, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Her niece, Aline Chaine, is married to Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marguerite Chaine, 88, of Westbury Park Road, were held Saturday, February 18, at 9:15 a.m. from the Hickcox Funeral Home to St. John the Evangelist Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
