Marcel was baptised March 8 1804 in Ste Genevieve de Batiscan, a small village on the banks of the
Batiscan river. The batism records say "de parents inconnus" (of unknown parents). He lived with
Louis Ayotte in St Stanislas. he was sent to school in Trois-Rivieres. Matthew Lymburner
aknowledged being the father in the demand for the naming of Louis Guillet, a notary, as tutor on
July 6 1821. Later in donation documents of July 18 1821, prepared by Joseph Planté a Quebec city
notary, Matthew Lymburner gave some land to his two children refered to as "enfants naturels"
(natural children).
There was use of the Lymburner name by the children, Marcel and his sister Catherine after that
event, but at his mariage the priest refers to "Marcel surnomé Ayot" (Marcel known as Ayot). At the
signature there is Marcel Ayotte.

At the baptism of the first child, Ferdinand, the family name was given as Lymburner.
