Obituary: SOUTHBRIDGE - Lucien H. Castonguay, 80, of Dennison Drive, and a native of Northbridge, died Monday at Providence House Nursing Home.
His second wife, Margaret (LaBarge) Spenard Castonguay, died in 1991. His first wife, Irene (Dumas) Castonguay, died in 1978. He leaves a son, Paul Castonguay of Southbridge; a daughter, Elaine Leduc of Three Rivers; three sisters, Alice Nalewajk of Webster, Annette Courteau of Northbridge and Germaine Capozzoci of Webster; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; and nephews and nieces. He was born in Northbridge, son of Adelard and Albertine (Pauquette) Castonguay, and lived here many years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe, Africa and in the Middle East.
Mr. Castonguay worked for American Optical Co. for many years, retiring in 1977. He was a part-time bartender for Cohasset Country Club. He was a member of Notre Dame Church, Hamilton Rod and Gun Club and AO's Quarter Century Club. He was an avid fisherman and golfer.
A private funeral service will be held in Belanger-Bullard Funral Home, 51 Marcy St. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity.
