Lucien, born July 21, 1920, marries Irène Lessard on July 1, 1947. She is a native of the same parish, daughter of Ernest Lessard and Béatrice Breton. They will have seven children: Michel, Marie, Denis, Richard, Christian, Jean-Louis and Béatrice.

They settled on Joseph's first farm where they will operate a dairy farm during forty years and where they are still living to this day. In addition to farming, Lucien was a truck driver for the local dairy and a telephone technician. He was also on the school board, the parish council and a member of the parish choir.

For her part, Irène was a hard working homemaker and saw to the well-being of their seven children. To accomplish this, she cultivated a large vegetable garden and made her children's clothing until they were in their teens.

Lucien and Irène also worked as school bus drivers for more than twenty years.
