BIDDEFORD - Lionel J St Ours, 91, died Monday at his home after a long illness. He was born in Biddeford on October 3, 1915, a son of Jerome and Delia Moulin St Ours. He was educated in Biddeford schools, graduating as a member of the first graduating class from St Louis High School in 1934. On September 19, 1936, he married Jeannette P Goulet in St Andre's Church. He worked eight years with Pepperell Manufacturing Company and three years at the South Portland Shipyard before serving with the US Army during World War II. After the war, he worked a few years with Saco Lowell Shop in Biddeford. He then owned and operated the Nutshell Restaurant in Biddeford for 16 years. He last worked 10 years with Saco Tanning Corporation in Saco, retiring in 1976. In retirement, he worked 15 years with Alex Pizza in Biddeford. He was a member of the Biddeford-Saco Elks, the Biddeford Eagles and the St Luis Alumni Association. Among his interests he enjoyed playing cards and wintering in Florida. He was preceded in death by: his wife Jeannette P Goulet in 2003; one son, Raymond St Ours in 1961 and one daughter, Madeleine P Beaudoin in 2006. He is survived by: one daughter, Diane LaMontagne and her husband, Robert of Ponce Inlet, FL; one sister, Reinette Taylor of Biddeford; two grandchildren, Prudence B Hooper of Biddeford and William Beaudoin and his wife, Jennifer of Kennebunkport; one great granddaughter, Samantha Hooper of Biddeford; several nieces and nephews.
