Died of a brain aneurysm while on skiing trip with his wife Joan Carroll in 1984.
He was not supposed to graduate high school due to his very poor performance in Latin studies. However, the Brother teaching Latin, noticed Jules' talent in Science. The Brother modified Jules' grades in order for Jules to pass High School.
Jules Lévesque went on to earn his PhD in Chemistry from l'Université de Montréal in the mid 1950s.
He worked for the National Defense (DND) at the Valcartier and Suffield Research Centers. Amongst other things, he invented rescue flares and smoke screens for tanks.
His MSc and PhD theses were sponsored by the US Air Force Material Command.
