MAN KILLED WHILE AT WORK
Bucket of Stone Hit Joseph Laverdiere, 48 of 60 Fales Street, Central Falls, Proprietor of the Central Falls Stone Company was almost instantly killed, while at work on a stone crusher today, in the rear of his home, when a bucket containing about two tons of stone, swinging from an aerial railway, struck him in the head, knocking him several feet away. Mr. Laverdiere was feeding the crusher withrough stones and stood directly beneath the swinging bucket which was being lowered from a height of about 25 feet. After the blow, Mr. Laverdiere was carried into the house unconscious. Dr. G. H.Boucher was called to attend him as was Rev J. A. Fauteux of Notre Dame Church. The man died shortly after the arrival of the priest. Medical Examiner Charles H. French was called and pronounced death due to accident. The body was delivered to Heroux Brothers to be prepared for burial. Mr. Laverdiere came to Central Falls about four years ago. He is survived by four sons and three daughters.His wife died one year ago.
