Mrs. Joseph Begin - A Lewiston mother of 16 children died, Tuesday afternoon, at St Mary's General Hospital, leaving 79 descendants. Mrs Marie Cote Begin, 70, wife of Joseph Begin of 313 1/2 Bates Street, lewiston, left besides her children, 51 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was ill a week before her death.

Mrs. Begin was born at Weedon, P.Q., Feb. 20, 1880, the daugther of Jean and Eugenie Lapointe Cote. Her father, who also survives, is 94 years old and resides at Lake st Jean, P.Q. She was a member of SS. peter and Paul Church.
Surviving, besides her husband and father, are eight sons, Leopold, Gerard, Henri and Samuel, all of Lewiston, Roland and Rene, l'Abitibi, P.Q., Alcide Weedon, P.Q., and Patrick, Gardner, Mass. and eight daugthers, Mrs Alcide (Blanche) Bedard, Mrs. Euclide (Dolores) Hemond, Mrs. Alfred (Elizabeth) Therrien, and Miss Cecile Begin, Mrs. Armand (Adrienne) Richard, all of Lewiston and Mrs. Ovide (Therese) Gagne, both of Rumford, Rev. Sr. Rolande Begin, Berlin N.H., and Mrs. Hampe (Armande) Lauzier, Gardner, Mass.

Five brothers, Joseph, Lake St. Jean, P.Q., Ovila and Henri, Waterville, Albert, Spring Hill, P.Q., and Edouard, Montreal, P.Q.; 51 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.

DIED - In Lewiston Feb. 6, Mrs. Joseph Begin, age 70. Remains are at the Pinette Funeral Pa?, 87 Bartlett Street. Time and date of ? to be announced.
