There passed away at the Halifax Infirmary on August 6th, Jeffrey Gerrior, Larry's River oldest resident, in his 94th year.
Surviving are two sons, John of Halifax and Thomas, Larry's River; five daughters, Cecilia (Mrs. Bert Avery), Halifax, with whom deceased had been residing for the past three years, Anna (Mrs. Basil Doucette), Helen (Mrs. Francis Lally), both of Malden, Mass., Martina (Mr. Joseph Comeau), Liverpool and Clara (Mrs. Ernest Pellerin), Larry's River; two sisters Mrs. Helen Butler, Wakefield, Mass. and Mrs. Lena Butler, Quincy, Mass.; also surviving are 35 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 8 step-children.
Twice married, his first wife, the former Anne Fougere, pre-deceased him in 1918, and his second wife, the former Louise Conway, in 1961. He was also pre-deceased by two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Williams and Miss Geneva Gerrior, and two sons, William and Hubert.
The largely attended funeral was held at Larry's River on August 10 at 9 a.m. with Requiem High Mass celebrated by Rev. H.D. MacDonald, P.P., Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Two of the deceased's grandchildren were servers at the Mass, assisted by a third as Cross-bearer. Pallbearers were Wilmer Gerrior, Reginald Avery, Cyril Pellerin, Billie Gerrior, Wilfred Conway and Joseph Comeau.
