Irene J. Bergeron, 93; private service planned

Southbridge - Irene J. (Spenard) Bergeron, 93, of 25 Marcy Street, died January 23, in her home, after an illness.

Her husband, Adelard J. Bergeron, died in 1981. She leaves her daughter, Germaine Renaud, with whom she lived; from Germaine she leaves four grandsons and ten great-grandchildren; she leaves her daughter, Rachelle Fournier and Renee of Portsmounth, N.H.; from Rachelle she leaves four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; from a family of 18 she leaves a sister, Gertrude Gregoire of Southbridge.

She was born in Ste. Pierre les Becquests, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Alphonse and Aurore (Montpas) Spenard. Mrs. Bergeron worked at Grosvenordale Textile, Ames Worsted in Southbridge, the American Optical Co. in Southbridge and Dewey's Machine Shop in Southbridge, before retiring many years ago. She was a member of Notre Dame Parish.

During her life time she was a well loved and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all.

The funeral service will be private. Burial in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton Street, Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
