James Leslie was a Captain in the l5th Regiment of Foot, he served under Amherst at Louisberg, and Wolfe
at Quebec, and was twice wounded in the American war. He then resigned his commission. returned to
Scotland and married Elizabeth Stuart and settled at Kair Kincardinshire where he died on I April 1791.
