Irene B. Ricard - September 14, 2008
Laconia-Irene Bertha Ricard, 98, of 22 Cedar Street died Sunday morning, September 14, 2008 at St. Francis Healthcare Center after a brief period of failing health.

Irene was born in Laconia on December 4, 1909 the daughter of the late Cleophas C. and Olevine V. (Morin) Fecteau. She had been a lifelong resident of Laconia.

Irene graduated from Sacred Heart School. Prior to her retirement in 1975 she was employed at the Lund Ski Factory for 12 years, and had also worked at Tec Electronic Company.

Irene was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, and a member of The Ladies of Sacred Heart. She was also a member of l’Association Canado Americaine, and Auxiliaire de St. Jean de Baptiste. Among her interests, Irene loved to knit, crochet, and do fancy cut work. She and her husband Emile were accomplished ball room dancers spending many enjoyable and memorable times on the dance floor together.

Besides her parents, Irene was predeceased by her sisters Mildred Lacasse, Adele Sheehan, and Beatrice Defosse; her brothers Leon Fecteau, and Arthur Fecteau.

Irene is survived by her husband of 66 years, Emile A. Ricard of Laconia, and her sister-in-law Irene Labreque of Laconia. Many nieces and nephews also survive Irene.

Visiting hours were on Wednesday September 17, 2008 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia. Revered Adrien R. Longchamps pastor of the church was the celebrant. Burial followed in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street.
