Irene (Croteau) Brisson, an avid coo and devoted family member, died suddenly July 1 at Lady Minto Hospital after her family had gathered for a reunion. Mrs. Brisson, 64, was for born in St. Jean Chrysostome, Québec and came to Cochrane in 1950. She is survived by her husband, Alphonse L. Brisson and eight sons and five daughters. Hers sons sons are: Jean-Marc, Reynald, Ghislain and Michel of Cochrane; Guy of Thessalon; Roger of Elliott Lake, Yvon of Montréal and Daniel of Québec City. Her daughters are: Francine Mrs. Lee Côté) and Joanne of Cochrane; Doris (Mr.s Clément Normand) of Montréal; Diane (Mrs. William Vlaad) of Espanola; and Lynn (Mrs. Denis Beilhartz) of Hanmer. Mrs. Brisson leaves also a brother, Charles Croteau of Québec and several sisters: Germaine (Mrs. Donat Cantin), Béatrice (Carrier) and Fernande (Mrs. Adelard Côté) of St. Jean Chrysopstone; and Lucille (Mrs. Paul Emile Couture) and Mrs. Jeannette (Mrs. Adrien Couture) of St. Romuald. Québec. She leaves 25 grandchildren and one great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brisson was predeceased by her parents Alphonse Croteau and Lucie Couture, one son Gaston and Daughter Isèle; a grandchild Denis Brisson; and a brother Donat Croteau. She was a member of the Club d'Age and Les filles d'Isabelle. July 4 the funeral mass was concelebrated by Rev Frs Léo Papineau of Cochrane and Fernand Villeneuve of Val Rita and Rev. Jean Lagacé of Smooth Rock Falls at the Prix Transfiguration in Cochrane. Music was provided by the Smooth Rock falls choir from St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church. Burial followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Cochrane. Pallbearers were: Lee côté, Denis Beilhartz, Michel Norman, Alain Normand, Dean Brisson and Bill Vlaad.
