Ernest Croteau

Ernest Croteau, 88, of 21 Gale St. died Thursday in Leominster Hospital.

He was born in Canada, son of the late Anthony and Marie (St-Laurent) Croteau and lived in Springfield for many years before returning to Fitchburg. He was employed by the Package Machinery Co. of Springfield before his retirement in 1965.

He leaves four sons, Rene Croteau of Saginaw, Mich.,
Andrew Croteau of East Longmeadow and Robert Croteau of Springfield, Ill., and Armand Croteau of Springfield; three daughters, Mrs. ??bra (Croteau) St-Arnaud and Pauline wife of Alexander Pantwski, both of this city, Theresa, wife of Thomas Burnpus, California; two brothers, Lucien Croteau of Riverside, Calif., and Henry Croteau of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Leontine Thibault of Fitchburg and Mrs. Exercile Ledue of California; 16 grand-children, and 25 great grand-children.

The funeral will be held Saturday from the Aubuchon Funeral Home with a funeral Mass in St. Francis Church at 9.30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Calling hours in the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
