Ernest Raphael Bisson, Hull Contractor, is dead. Ernest Raphael Bisson, a well-known and highly esteemed Hull contractor, died early Sunday morning. Although he had been confined to his home, at 23 Montcalm Street since last March, his death greatly shocked a large circle of friends who received news of his passing with very deep regret. Mr. Bisson was the father of J. Hector Bisson, superintendent of the Hull Public Works' Department. Born at St- Remi, he was in his 78th year. He came to live in Hull with his family when seven years of age and for about 15 years previous to the beginning of the 20th century he operated a saw mill at Deschenes. Since 1901 Mr. Bisson was engaged in construction in the Hull district where he operated as a contractor. Many buildings were erected under his own personal direction; including the Deschenes power house, the Deschenes car barn, and other buildings. He was awarded several contracts or waterworks developments in Hull, and took part in construction of the Chaudieres power plant. Although he never held a seat on Hull city council, Mr. Bisson always took very great interest iIn civic question of his own city. He was active in a number of Hull organizations, and was among the founders of the Hull Council of the Knights of Columbus. His widow predeceased him in 1911. Surviving him are two sons, Hector and J. Leonard Bisson; one daughter, Miss Marguerite Bisson, two brothers. Edouard, and Eudas Bisson; three sisters, Mrs. A. Roy. Mrs. George Du-montier, and Mrs. J. B. Bessette. The funeral will be held at 113 o'clock Tuesday morning, from his late residence, 33 Montcalm Street. Notre Dame Church for requiem high mass. Interment will be made in the family plot at the Aylmer Roman Catholic cemetery.
