Mrs. Xavier Demers was listed as a surviving sister in an obituary of Matilda Gagnon published in 1904. Although her baptismal record is absent from the area, her older and younger siblings' records are from St. Cyprien, due south of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. So, exactly where she was born is not known, but where she grew up is. (D. Bouchard)
