At home on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the age of 98. Daughter of the late Siméon Rainville and late Rosina Lalonde. Beloved wife of the late Senator Rhéal Bélisle. Loving mother of Hélène (late Robert Pilon), Claire (Smaïl Aït El Hadj), Fernand (Rosemary Chisholm), Réjeanne (Michel Massie), Gilbert (Dominique Joly), Claude, Huguette (Boyd Hawkins) and Pierre (Marie-Claude Roy). Cherished grandmother of 14 grandchildren: Chantal (Rob) Bélisle; Michel, Yves (Chantal) and Daniel (Charity) Pilon; Lucie and Anaïs (Anthony) Bélisle-Aït El Hadj; Étienne-René (Joanne) and Marc-André (Mélanie) Massie; Nicolas (Amanda) and Éric (Megan) Bélisle; Patrick (Magali) Ford-Bélisle; Russell, Sarah and Carolyne Hawkins. She will be fondly remembered by her 14 great-grandchildren Joseph Connor; Élisabeth, Valérie, Laurent and Catherine Pilon; André, Mélina and Sébastien Pilon; Julien and Gabriel Pilon; Caleb, Magalie and Louka Massie; Alexandre Massie. She was predeceased by her brothers Hormidas (late Alida Moncion), Siméon (late Béatrice Couillard), Lucien (late Laurette Larocque), Paul (late Gertrude Couillard), Louis (late Claire Bertrand) and her sisters Eugénie (late Wilfrid Portelance) and Léonide (late Oswald Méthé). Survived by her sister-in-law Yolande (late Maurice) Bélisle as well as by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Racine Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home, 180 Montreal Road, Ottawa on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday March 21, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Notre-Dame Cathedral, 355 Sussex Drive Ottawa. Interment will be at the Cemetery in Blezard Valley, Ontario on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the Family has asked that donations in Mrs Bélisle's memory be made to Laurentian University c/o Senator- Rhéal-Bélisle Foundation, Development Bureau, 935 Ramsay Lake Road, Sudbury, Ontario P3E 2C6.
