As an infant, lived in Governeur, NY. Moved to Sackets Harbor approx. 1948. Separated from his wife Pearl for 22 years prior to his death. In his early life, he was a stage hand and projectionist in local motion picture theaters, including the old Wonderland and Bijou, and as a young man was an assistant for local undertaking firms including Northam & Fox and Payne & Burns. He was an Air Brake Co. employee for over 37 years and retired early in 1960. He worked there most of the time in the Foundry Casting Cleaning Dept.
