Daniel was living in the Douglastown/Seal Cove area at the time of the 1825 Gaspé census. There were six in the family, source Film # C-718 Canadian National Archives. Les Registres de Bonaventure ( page 405 )
notes Daniel as being from Devonshire England.
Other details: Daniel Scott left Elizabeth Lerhe to take up with Mary Anne Walsh with whom he moved from Douglastown to Bristol (Qc) about 1830 where he changed his name to Daniel Smith.
