His registered birth certificate read as Damien Octave Lalonde, however he always went by Daniel & was documented on his marriage/death certificate & regimental documents.

He was a soldier of the 1st World War on April 18, 1918 at the age of 21, his regiment # 2008248, rank SPR & qualification was machinist. He came back from the war on July 4, 1919.
