Widow of Mr. Rarn.

Her husband and two of her four children died from disease in Germany prior to her emigration to the USA. The Rarns were friends of Fred & Mary in the old country and I believe he asked her to come to America after Mr. Rarn's passing in 1873. She and her two daughters, Caroline (b. 1861) and Minnie (b. 1869) took up residence in Bennington near the Baese family.

After Mary's death, "Carrie" and Frederick were married.

The photo is from a Hutchings/Baese family reunion portrait taken in 1908 when she was 76.

She is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Bennington, Michigan.
