Lancaster - Funeral services for Mrs. Queenie Elizabeth Lalonde were held at McArthur Brothers and MacNeil Funeral Home, Second St. East on June 23 at 2 p.m. Rev. Robert Blair, minister of Knox Unit Church, where she was a member, officiated at the service, which was followed by burial in St. Andrews cemetery, South Lancaster. Pallbearers were six grandsons; Lawrence Brady, William Brady Jr., Douglas MacPherson, Clifford Lalonde, James Lalonde, and Michael Lalonde. Mrs. Lalonde was 84, and had been a resident of Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge for four years. She died in Cornwall General Hospital after an illness of about two weeks duration, on June 20. Mrs. Lalonde spent much of her life here. She was a native of London, England, her birth place being the district known as Old Kent Road. Her parents were George Barker and her mother was the former Minnie Pannell. She is survived by a son, Alex Lalonde, here and a daughter Mary of Woodstock, Ont. Two daughters, Tassiebelle and Margaret, predeceased her. Mrs. Lalonde came to Canada as a girl of only 10 years. Born April 18, 1887, she was brought to this country after her mother died and she was placed in Mrs. Birk's Home. She had five sisters, one of them her twin, named Emma. However, they were all placed in different homes across Canada and the children lost touch with each other over the years, with the exception of the twin who lived nearby until her death in 1937. Mrs. Lalonde was married in Montréal on March 31, 1913 to Donald Lalonde, who died in 1966. "
