Mr. Lalonde died Monday, July 23, 1979, at the Highland Nursing Home, Massena where he has been a patient for 4 1/2 years.
Surviving are five sons, Robert, Ronald, and Jacques, all of Winthrop,Ivan, Brasher Falls; Raymond, Plattsburgh; six daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Fleurette) LaShomb, Massena; Mrs. Robert tJeanine) Jacot, Mrs. Dale (Pauline) Wells, both of Potsdam, Mrs. Charles (Gaselle) Gibson,' Winthrop; Mrs. Robert (Lillian) King, Moira; Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Stowell, North Lawrence; 42 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren, several nieces and nephews; a brother, Lionel, Montreal; four sisters, Mrs. Yvonne Gohier, Quebec; Mrs. Marie Claire, Ottawa; Mrs. Colette Joly, Alfred, Ont.; Mrs. Ida Drury, Prescott, Ont. A daughter, Mrs. Henry (Lorraine) Cootware, predeceased him in 1976.
He was born in Alfred, Ont. on Aug, 10, 1901, son of Louis and Oliva Brassard Lalonde. He came to the U.S. in March of 1920 and was employed at Alcoa for 40 years, retiring in 1966.
He first married Yvonne Bissonette in 1924. She died in March of 1947. He then married Katherine Collins on June 12, 1948. She died in May of 1978.
Mr. Lalonde was a member of St. Patrick's Church, the Knights of Columbus Club 2176, Brasher Falls, and the 25-Year Club of Alcoa.
Funeral services for Omer Lalonde,78, North Lawrence, were today at 10
a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, N. Lawrence, with Rev. Robert 0. Lamitie
officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends called
at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Stowell of North Lawrence.
