Biographie Hamelin Louise-Mary
Louise (Louisa) Hamelin dit Amlaw was born in Champlain, New York, USA, and married François Routhier (Frank Roukey). Her parents were Charles Amlaw and Adeline née Dumont. The family lived in Coopersville, NY and then relocated to Manchester, New Hampshire. Routhier became Americanized to Roukey.
Louisa and François' children include François Salomón (aka Frank S.), Charles Emmet, William Joseph, Georges Ellsworth (aka George), James Abraham, Édouard (Edward) Arthur, Elmer Joseph, and Etta Louise. New York state began recordkeeping after 1880, so there may be more children who have not been found yet.
Louisa and her family were members of St. Joseph de Corbeau parish in Coopersville, NY. They became members of the St. Raphael parish in Manchester, and their grandchildren were baptized there. Louisa is named as godmother to Erwin Francis Roukey and James Joseph Roukey.
At the time of her death, Louisa lived at 34 Parker Street in Manchester. Cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage, contributed by senility, endo and myocarditis, arteriosclerosis. Manchester city directory from 1938 has Lawrence A. Roukey living at 34 Parker Street.
