Biographie Doyon Lionel

Lionel J. Doyon, 59, of 4 Winter Street, Waterville died at the Veterans Administration Center, Togus, early Monday morning a few hours after being admitted. He was born in Waterville, April 13, 1909, son of Joseph & Marie Deblois Doyon. He had been employed at Fort Halifax Company before retiring on account of ill health. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church; Forest J. Pare Post VF of which he was the chaplain; the Bourque-Lanigan Post American Legion and he was 'Seam Squirrel' in the Order of the Cooties. He was a past commander of the Forest J. Pare post and had also served as department chaplain of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Isella Roy Doyon of Waterville; eight sons: Lawrence of Fairfield; Laurier of Briston Conn; Leon of Oakland; Gerard with the U.S. Army in Texas; Richard of Marlboro Mass.; Robert, Bernard and Armand of Waterville; two daughters: Mrs. Irene Kidwell of Norfolk,Va.; Mrs. Yvette George of Waterville; two brothers: Joseph and Ernest of Waterville; 22 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis de Sales Church and interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
